
The Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja11 has sent out his congratulatory message to World Health Oganisation (WHO) as the organisation is still in the atmosphere of celebrating her 75th anniversary.
In his goodwill message on Sunday, 9th April, 2023, when Osun State Coordinator of WHO in person of Dr. Bello Ahmed led his team to his palace, Ooni noted that since 1948 that the organization was established, it has been known for promoting health, keeping the world safe and serving the vulnerable. He emphasized the roles of WHO in combatting infectious diseases such as Polio, Measles, Ebola, Yellow Fever, Cholera, COVID-19 and also reduction in child and maternal deaths and improving safe delivery practices among mothers. WHO’s support has also led to an improved capacity of our health workers including the community leaders on health related issues as said by the spiritual head of the Yoruba race.

While furthering his speech, Olofin Adimula lauded the collaboration of WHO and Osun State Government towards health for all which made Osun state to win the best performing state award during outbreak response -1 in December, 2022 from the national primary of the healthcare development agency.
Under my leadership as the permanent chairman of the traditional council of South West and Co Chairman of the traditional council of Nigeria, we have been supporting the Government, WHO and other partners to mobilise communities to accept immunization, report any disease and outbreaks to native health authorities, refer pregnant mothers to health facilities for safe delivery, lead ward health development committee meetings, monitor health facility utilization and promote good personal hygiene and environmental sanitation among others, we are very close to our people, we will continue to partner with WHO and other agencies to promote health, prevent diseases across the LGAs in the state, Olofin Adimula added as he ended his congratulatory speech.

Appreciating Ooni of Ife, the Osun state coordinator of WHO, Dr. Bello Ahmed pointed it out that his imperial majesty has always been there for WHO through collaborations in order to ensure free health for all in Osun state and other states particularly during the outbreaks of deadly diseases. Today, our royal father has given us gifts again, WHO can’t thank you enough sir, It is a great privilege collaborating with the House of Oduduwa and we look forward to more partnerships in the nearest future, Dr. Bello added.
