21st October, 2023 remains a remarkable day in the history of Ife kingdom, southwest and Nigeria at large as the head of the Nigerian peace corps, DR. Muhammed Abubakar , ACG Samuel, the South West Coordinator of the peace corp led their team to the palace of the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi in the bid to pay courtesy visit and also to present the head of the Yoruba race the award of the Grand Patron of the Paramilitary that is waiting for the presidential approval.

In his speech, Abubakar gave the brief history of the corps by saying the organization emanated as a result of the aim to complement the effort of the Government in restoring some appreciable degree of peace in Nigeria particularly in the area religious, political, and tribal conflict within the nooks and crannies of our great Nation, Nigeria.

Eradicating some greatest structural ills like tribalism, religious crises, ethnicity rancor, state ism and politics of selfishness is our goal, as a youth organization, educating the Nigerian Youths on peaceful coexistence is part of our objectives being the offshoot of two organizations “national unity and peace corps, peace Corps of Nigeria” which were collapsed with their leadership to form Nigerian peace Corps by the National Assembly. NPC is a uniformed paramilitary outfit registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) which is also known as THE MEDIATORS duly supervised by the Federal Ministry of Interior. Our challenges so far include presidential approval, vehicles, accommodation, land for offices/Training school and so on.. It is our belief that with our father, it is done as said by DR. Abubakar Muhammed.

He equally commended the South West Coordinator of NPC, ACG Adeola Samuel for his gallant roles and involvements since the inception of the Peace Corps particularly during Ife/Modakeke crises.

Responding to the speech, the Director of media and public affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare royally welcomes Nigerian Peace Corps and painstakingly educates NPC on the biography of Olofin Adimula which rest on 3 main passionate points which are youth oriented, peace driven and Pan Africanism as it was pronounced by Ashante of Kumasi that Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi , CFR,Ojaja 11 remains the African ambassador of peace and Pan Africanism. Therefore, be rest assured that since your organization is in line with these, Oonirinsa will always be available to grant your request, he added.

The Arole Oduduwa started his speech by congratulating the son of the soil, ACG Adeola Samuel and equally welcomes DR. Muhammed Abubakar to the palace of Oduduwa and expressly called on the Obalufe, Oba Idowu Adediwura and the lawyer of Ife kingdom to handover a piece of land to NPC. Also, he told the organization to reach out to him immediately the need for the vehicles comes up so that he can contribute his own quota and promised to reach out to the appropriate quarters in ensuring that the approval of the organization sees the light of the day. Grand patron of NPC award was presented to Olofin Adimula while commitment award was presented to ACG Adeola Samuel as sections of photograph were carried out. Other dignitaries at the event include Oba Adebayo Joseph Adewole, Owa Ajero, Obalufe of Ife kingdom, Iyalode of Ife and Ife in diaspora.
