The former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and the incubent Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District has emerged as the Senate President of the 10th Assembly while the Honourable representing Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State has emerged as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In an election which constitutionally took place at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, 109 Senators sat constitutionally, 63 Senators voted for the former Minister of the Ministry Niger Delta while 46 Senators voted for Senator Yari.
Equally, 353 Federal Honourables voted for Honourable Tajudeen Abass while 3 voted for Idris Wase.
However, Senator Barau Jibrin from Kano North Senatorial district emerged as the Deputy Senate President of the 10th Assembly unopposed and Honourable Benjamin Kalu from Bendel Federal Constituency, Abia State, emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly unopposed.
