The Permanent Chairman of Osun State traditional council, Ooni Babatunde Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has sued for peace between the indigenes of Ifon/Irolu in Irepodun Local Government Areas of Osun over the land dispute to “give peace a chance”.
Oonirinsa used the throne that links all the Yoruba race home and in Diaspora to appeal to all the parties involved in this crises during the Press Conference in his Palace, on Friday, 6th October, 2023 in Ile-Ife.
According to him, there is no gain or benefit derived in destruction of innocent lives and properties especially during the time of economic downturn.
“Ifon and Ilobu people, I am appealing to you in the name of God from the throne of Oduduwa, we are all the same and one race.
“Please let us stop the killings and destroying of property, God hate killing and destruction of lives and resources that cannot made”. Ooni sued for peace.
The permanent chairman of Osun State traditional council warned the youths of the two communities against the escalation of the crisis, but rather to be their brothers keeper.
Olofin Adimula unequivocally charged all the authorities involved to intervene and caution their members to sue for peace and tranquility among among one another. At least, the State Government has taken over the disputed land for peace to rain “Ooni concluded”
