The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Governor Olusola Babajide Sanwoolu has made it known that the long awaited blue rail line will begin commercial operations on Monday, 4th September, 2023 from Marina to Mile 2.
Governor Babajide invited passengers to join him on Monday as they become the first passenger. This is the people’s project and everyone will enjoy its world-class services.He said.
He explained that there are over 300 CCTV cameras across the entire rail with over 30 cameras monitoring the tracks alone, with command and control centers available in all stations along the track.
He concluded by saying Lagosians should take ownership of the project and treat it with decency as the project belongs to the Lagosians. Any altercation or disturbance on the train will not be tolerated. It goes without saying that vandalism also will NOT be tolerated. He concluded..
