The wife of the Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, Ooni Babatunde Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi,CFR, Ojaja 11 in person of Queen Aderonke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi has led Adire textile hub, a part of cultural and economic section of the House of Oduduwa to Sao Paulo in Brazil to show case the beauty of Africa through Fashion in AFWB.
Queen Aderonke who gave the brief historical background of African Fashion week in a media chat said Africa Fashion week started 14 years ago in London and later metamorphosed the one that held in Nigeria and the one that is holding presently in Brazil.
The Pioneer of QMA established in the media chat that Africa continent is full of about 3000 tribes part of which have different fashion and cultural values inspired and influenced by the historical and traditional set up of each tribes particularly in the Yoruba kindgom, an ethnic group in Nigeria where my husband is their spiritual head.
While stating the reasons for the African Fashion week in the interview, the Queen of the source noted that the aim of the event is to create more synergies in terms of culture and fashion between Africa, Afrobrazilian and Brazil which is already happening. Creating African designers and Afrobrazilian designers in the bid to strengthen our economic and cultural bond as twin cities backed up with Brazilian legislative law that was recently passed which my husband and other traditional emissaries/ business tycoons in the continent of Africa came to celebrate in a process which led to meeting the President of Brazil last month. Queen, royally describes the characteristics of African Fashion in terms of boguseness, beauty, colour, boldness, uniqueness, royalty which stem beyond the adulterated views of Africa as a continent.
She equally lauds the Models that came for the event and described them as phenomenal, amazing, wonderful and professional. In fact, I wish I can take the models to Nigeria, Olori Aderonke concluded.
